In Memoriam of Sam Kearsley, Head of Academic Services in Law (Academic Programmes)
“We were saddened to learn about the death of Sam Kearsley, Head of Academic Services for The City Law School (Academic Programmes), who passed away over the Christmas break after a period of illness.
Sam had been at City for 15 years and had made a great impact on all of the students and staff he worked with and supported, and provided a great deal of support to the Students’ Union in improving the Programme Representatives Scheme and in helping students flourish.
Zain Ismail, VP Education and a former Law Student remembers: “On his lunchtime trips to Sainsbury’s, Sam would always stop and say hello to students in the Law Common Room. He was always friendly and was well-known and liked across the University, and certainly will be missed.”
For any students wanting to leave messages or tributes to Sam, please email these through to law@city.ac.uk
Sam’s family are asking that any donations in his memory be made in support of The Martlets Hospice, who cared for Sam and provided support for his family.
