Our leadership elections are upon us, and your Students’ Union needs you!
Our Student Media Leaders are the ideal candidates to take part in this year’s election and as one, you could well be running the SU by the end of the year! Think of the changes you want to see, the ways you can impact students and improve their experience and report back on the changes you’ve made as a Sabbatical Officer. Now, doesn’t that sound like something worthwhile doing?
Your work as a Student Media Leader has demonstrated your desire to share your interests, your ability to carry out your own initiatives, time management skills, leadership, your ability to interact with students and your aspirations to enhance the student experience. Why not take these values and skills into the next stage of your career? Look at the work you do with a small group of volunteers and imagine what you could do with the support of an entire Students’ Union team behind you!
We have a range of positions available that you are eligible to nominate yourself for. These include voluntary positions such as the Societies Officer and Student Media Officer, to full time paid positions (£23k+ salary + benefits!) such as the President of the Students’ Union and Vice- President Wellbeing & Community, you might even be interested in Vice-President Education. Regardless of what year of study you’re in, we have your back, so click here to read more about the roles on offer and why not put yourself forward to make a change at City? What are you waiting for?
Whether you are a part-time or full-time officer, you’ll be fully supported to carry out your campaign goals during your term in office. Not only will you develop personally but you’ll learn an entire new set of skills that will prepare you for life after university, you’ll be running a charity that you can make a huge amount of change in, and you’ll meet a great bunch of people too. And as aforementioned, these campaign goals are set by you and your interests and what you want to see change!
Officers in recent years have been able to do things like secure a cheaper catering menu for societies, get a more accessible storage room, lobby for mental health improvements and lobby for lecture capture.
