Sports Kit Tender is LIVE!

City St George’s Students’ Union is excited to invite proposals for a new kit provider to support our vibrant and diverse sports community.

The purpose of this tender is to invite proposals from sports kit providers for the development of a new sports kit for our student sport players at City St George’s Students’ Union, sporting leisure wear range for all students, and aligned staff uniform.

We proudly host 55 active sports clubs with over 1,000 members, all of whom are supplied with competitive kit and leisurewear exclusively from one provider. Our clubs range from American Football, Cricket, Equestrian and MMA to traditional sports like Football, Rugby, and Badminton. Currently, 55 of our clubs compete in the British Universities and College Sport (BUCS) leagues or the London University Social Leagues (LUSL) on a weekly basis across the London region. The Union has bold ambitions to grow the sports programme at City St George’s to provide student opportunities to build community and support physical and mental wellbeing through sport and physical activity.

Our sports clubs represent City St George’s and City St George’s (St George’s Hospital.) Our St George’s Hospital teams represent our medical school who have a strong community and important history. Key to this is the clubs’ traditional colours of green and gold which should be incorporated into any kit design. Our City St George’s teams predominantly wear our signature red and black kit for competitions. It is imperative that the successful supplier can provide two distinct competition kit designs, one in red and black and the other in green and gold. Students from both sports clubs many also prefer personalised leisurewear and training kit such as t-shirts, jumpers, skins and bottoms for travel and warm-ups.

The students’ union has a range of essential requirements from any new kit supplier including service delivery, quality, inclusive sportswear, online shop and affordability for students. You can find full information in the tender pack.

How will students shape the decision-making process?

Student feedback will be integral to the selection of the new sports kit supplier. The Students’ Union Officers will be engaged in all stages of the decision-making process, representing students’ interests.

Tooting Club Committee are invited to a come to the students’ union office in Tooting on Friday 7th February to get more information about the selection of a new kit supplier. This will be used to shape the tender process. You can also send questions through to sports@city.ac.uk

Students and club committee will be invited to an in-person sample day to get more information about different suppliers and provide feedback. This will take place on 4th March on the Clerkenwell site.

Once a new supplier is selected, the students’ union will work in partnership with students to confirm the designs for the new kit.
