Hi!

We have some events coming up - those of you who attended the freshers fair will be aware of this -

1) A Jack the Ripper tour through Whitechapel.

This is currently scheduled for around Halloween time, and will likely be November 1st, which is a Friday.

It'll be a lot of fun - more details about this will be coming up inside of a week.

2) World Radiography Day!

World Radiography Day is celebrated on 8 November each year.

The date marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.

Radiographers worldwide use the day to promote radiography as a career.
It is a vital contribution to modern healthcare, and still very little is known about it by the general public.

The day is a chance to increase public awareness of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.

What we plan to do is to set up a stand in the main concourse on the first floor of the University Building on Friday 8th November.

If anyone is around on that particular day, please pop over for a chat, it will be great to see you.

3) The Bodyworlds exhibition.

Bodyworlds is an exhibition.

It features dissected human bodies and other anatomical structures of the body.

Preservation of these structures is through the process of plastination.

Gunther von Hagens developed the preservation process in the late 1970s.

For those of you who have an anatomy exam in January, I can attest that this exhibition is very helpful.

It's very hard to forget what's on display (and useful too).

We are working on arranging for a discounted price for tickets for Radiography members.

Anyway, that's all the news that's fit to print, for now.

Sincerely,

Ian, Nova and Jutka
